The intro was also very enjoyable as it sums up the show basically and the music would vary well to the emotional scenes. Sound- The music in Coyote Ragtime was brilliant it so fits with the shows in-you're-face explosive style with it's jazzy tunes with a little rock in the background. But the show draws you in right at the end half of the first episode just from the sheer amount of well choreographed action in it. However i did feel that the animation in some of the conversational scenes were a bit lagging in quality. 8/10Īrt- The character designs for the characters and the spaceships were top-notch, especially when you are introduced to Marciano and her twelve sisters each on an original and unique design (except for the triplets of course). In every single episode the story delivers a new piece of the puzzle to the treasure and shows off constantly in 'Oceans Eleven' style heists and swindling. for the treasure while picking up new eccentric acquaintances such as afro-gospel geezer- 'Swamp'. Story- The main story kicks off in the very first couple of episodes without needing too much build up where we see ragged coyote 'Mister' and his crew escape from a space prison and set off Simple enough right? Wrong! On top of that you have galactic federations in the middle of a planet-destroying war, a group of 12 psychotic and robotic killer maids hunting the Coyotes and as many plot twists as George Bushes presidency, all this packed in to 12 explosive episodes! Take two when they do it simultaneously.Ĭoyote Ragtime Show is about a group of Space pirates known as 'Coyote's' who are on a quest to find a treasure. It's quite unfortunate, since it showed so much promise in the beginning.įun Drinking Game: Down a shot whenever Mister or one of his gang puts on a stupid, goofy grin. If you have the money to spare, I suppose this set is worth it just to watch the great first episode, as well as seeing the Twelve Sisters in action. After the brilliant first episode, the cast stops being smart, the plotlines veer off to somewhere between 'irritatingly cliche' and 'boring as hell,' and the villains just get plain irksome. Instead, we get a show whose main cast (Mister and his band of merry cayote-outlaws) spending the entire series trying WAY too hard to be the Cowboy Bebop gang. It would have been like a Lupin III, but in space. in the wonderful sort of cat-and-mouse chase that the first episode pulled off so well. If they had stuck with the former, then the show would have stayed The worst mistake the show made, in my opinion, was switching protagonists from the space detective Angelica to the space pirate/bandit/whatever Mister. By the time the first episode ended, I was SALIVATING for more. The animation was wonderfully done, and the story's pace was smooth and quick. It had everything: an engaging setting, intriguing plot, intelligent (if slightly gluttonous) protagonist, spunky sidekick, and killer robot maids. Let's start off by saying that the first episode of this show was absolutely brilliant.

In less than three hours after the cavalry attack, the Christian forces had won the battle and saved Vienna from capture.Īfter the battle, Sobieski paraphrased Julius Caesar‘s famous quote by saying “veni, vidi, Deus vincit” – “I came, I saw, God conquered” The Ottoman army were tired and dispirited following the failure of both the sapping attempt and the brute force assault of the city, and the arrival of the cavalry turned the tide of battle against them, sending them into retreat to the south and east. In the confusion, the cavalry headed straight for the Ottoman camps, while the remaining Vienna garrison sallied out of its defenses and joined in the assault. This charge broke the lines of the Ottomans, who were tired from the long fight on two sides. The attack was led by the Polish king in front of a spearhead of 3000 heavily armed winged Polish lancer hussars. At about five o’clock in the afternoon, after watching the ongoing infantry battle from the hills for the whole day, four cavalry groups, one of them Austrian-German, and the other three Polish, totaling 20,000 men, charged down the hills. To continue the Catholic triumphalism a bit more, we will cite the Wikipedia article on the battle itself:Īfter 12 hours of fighting, Sobieski’s Polish force held the high ground on the right. On each of these instances, the Christian people sang with gratitude, “There was a man sent from God whose name was John,” applying to the hero the description of the Baptist from the prologue of St. There were three occasions in the defense of Christendom against Islam in which Europe was saved by a John: John Hunyadi, the Hungarian King, and hero of the Battle of Belgrade, Don Juan of Austria, who led the Christian navies at the Battle of Lepanto, and Jan Sobieski, King of Poland. What isn’t mentioned here is that Sobieski began the forced marches to Vienna from the shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa, where he mounted his charger on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, 1683, to arrive in Vienna almost a month later. The Turks left quantities of it in their stores when they ran.) More to the point, in thanksgiving for the help given by the Mother of God for the victory at Vienna, which was won on her feast day, the 30th day after the Assumption, Pope Innocent extended the feast in honor of the Holy Name of Mary to the Universal Church. This is when the Viennese, Europe’s most famous coffee-drinkers, discovered the stuff. (It is an aside, but of some cultural significance, that such was the Turkish flight, they left behind virtually all their stores and baggage. They did not simply withdraw from the walls of Vienna, they fled. The Polish army hit the numerically superior Turkish force with their surprise attack so hard, the Turks panicked. It would become the symbol of the victory over the Turks by Poland’s King John Sobieski when he arrived on the scene after a series of forced marches from Czestochowa. Meantime, there were special devotions at the Capuchin Church in Vienna to Our Lady Help of Christians, whose famous picture hangs there. Still, the situation was so dangerous that the imperial court left Vienna for Passau and took refuge there. The same prayers of supplication were offered throughout the Empire. When it became known that no fewer than 300,000 Turks were advancing on the imperial capital, Pope Innocent ordered that rosaries be recited in the religious houses and churches of Rome. Here is a brief telling of that triumphant occasion by Gary Potter (in “Saint Mary of Victory – The Historical Role of Our Lady in the Armed Defense of the Faith”):įortuitously, the pope of the day, Innocent XI, had just brokered an alliance between the Holy Roman Empire and the Kingdom of Poland, which was also menaced by the Mohammedans. In 1683, the forces of the Holy League, under Poland’s King Jan Sobieski, roundly defeated the Mohammedan invaders at the Battle of Vienna. In addition to its appearance on road signage, a customized version of the ClearviewText typeface was adopted by AT&T for corporate use, including advertising, beginning in 2006. The FHWA also refused to add Clearview to the 2009 MUTCD, citing lack of testing on Clearview's numerals, symbols, and narrower typefaces. The FHWA has not granted approval for Clearview to be used on negative contrast road signs (dark legend on light background, such as black on white or yellow), given its inferior legibility to the existing FHWA typefaces in these applications, although it is used in this fashion in Pennsylvania. Official acceptanceĬlearview was granted interim approval by the FHWA for use on positive contrast road signs (light legend on dark background, such as white on green, blue, or brown) on September 2, 2004. Two key differences are much larger counter spaces, the enclosed spaces in letters like the lower case "e" or "a," and a higher x-height, the relative height of the lower case "x" to the upper case "X." Smaller counter spaces in the FHWA fonts reduced legibility, particularly when the letters glowed from headlight illumination at night. Instead, using a similar weight to the FHWA fonts, a new font was created from scratch. The designers of Clearview sought to create a typeface adapted for mixed-case signage, initially expecting it would be based on an existing European sans-serif typeface. The standard FHWA typefaces, developed in the 1940s, were designed to work with a system of highway signs in which almost all words are capitalized. I'll see them again next Thursday with high expectations for a repeat performance. I smiled ear-to-ear and thanked the manager for superb customer service. Turns out, the cooks behind the counter performed exactly as required to get me the lunch I wanted. I thanked her and hoped the execution would be as good. So he prepared a "Mike's Special" cheat sheet for when I showed up the next time. She told me that the manager knew how important getting the order right was, including being recognized and her knowing what I wanted. In shock, I gave her $9.02, the expected amount. Today, when I walked in, the order taker, who I've seen three or four times, saw me, pulled a piece of paper from under her table and typed in my order, reciting each item out loud. In fact, my goal was to be able to say, "The usual" and have it prepared to my specifications. I joked with one of the managers that since I ordered the same thing every time, I expected their cooks to get it right by repetition. left in the basket while they packaged up normal ones. Several times, the order was not prepared properly. The order is always the same, a char Polish on French Bread with specific toppings and an order of fries well-done. He is Lord Vishnu’s eighth incarnation as the God of Love. When Krishna saw Radha in this way, he fell in love with her.īlack Krishna is also known as the goddess Parvati, Lord Vishnu, and the demon Arjuna, among other names. His heartbeat was in time with the way her anklets moved. Krishna could have listened to Radha’s voice for hours without understanding a word, and he would watch her lips move in a delicate dance. When Black Krishna came down from the sky, he saw a beautiful girl who was just as pretty as the first time he saw her. In the world of Devlok, Krishna and Rukmini end up getting married to each other. Even though most of the people in Vidharba didn’t like Krishna, Rukmini couldn’t choose anyone else.īut she wanted to get married to Krishna, so Rukmi decided to set her up with Maharaj Shisupal. Radha’s name was Rukmini, and she lived in a village called Vidharba. She didn’t open her eyes until she saw a child version of Krishna. She was found by Vrishbhanu on a lotus in the river Yamuna that was glowing. Radha was born in Uttar Pradesh, in a place called Raval, which is often called Barsana. Radha was born to the Yadava ruler of Barsana, Vrishbhanu. In the end, Krishna told them that they both had the same soul and that love was pure and unmixed. Even though Krishna tried to get Radha to change her mind, she was firm in her decision. Radha thought that because of her social status, Krishna would never marry a cowgirl. But the marriage did not lead to a child for one reason: The strength of Radha and Krishna’s love is shown by the fact that they were able to get married. Stories about Radha and Krishna’s wedding are told in the Hindu scriptures to show how important love is. And when one of the partners is a child of God, it’s even more special. It’s more than just the joining of two bodies it’s the joining of two souls. The way they love each other shows how powerful love can be.
